Both Jimmy and Barry Sime are extremely competitive individuals and having competed directly themselves and been involved in running many successful motorsport programmes over the years they are able to put this experience to good use to help Sime Racing’s customers. Having experience on both sides of the pit wall and importantly in also the business side of the sport, helping to secure the marketing partners to make the racing possible and helping to deliver value for money solutions, to keep them coming back.

1974 – 1993 Vehicle preparation and competed in both race & rally events and occasional hillclimbs. Also officiated at numerous motorsport events in various capacities.
1993 – 1997 Kart team preparation and driver coaching.
1998 – present Vehicle preparation and team management – race saloons, single seaters & sports. Also driver instruction and coaching
Barry Sime CV
1993 – 1997 Kart racing – TKM and 100B – 2 times Scottish Super Series Champion, Scottish Open Champion, North British Champion, etc etc. Also won Super One Slick 50 Formula Ford test day resulting in intensive tuition at Silverstone Race School and assistance from Paul Stewart (Stewart GP).
1997 Formula Ford Winter Series – Haywood Racing
1998 Selected saloon car races, in self built Fiesta XR2
1999 BRSCC British Fiesta XR2 series – 4th Overall
2000 Avon Junior Formula Ford Zetec Championship – 6th overall
2001 Slick 50 Formula Ford Zetec Championship – Aztec and Team JLR – 6th in Newcomers championship.
2002 Formula Renault – selected races with Cliff Dempsey Racing – Driver of the day at Knockhill TOCA meeting. Data acquisition with Team Firstair
2003 Formula Renault – testing and selected races. Renault Clio Winter Series with SRE Motorsport – one podium finish. Also Mount Stuart Motorsport Classic in Renault Clio. Data acquisition with Team Firstair
2004Driver coaching and Tuition Renault Clio Uk Championship and Winter Series with SRE Motorsport. One podium finish.
