Congratulations to Colin Turkington – 2009 BTCC Champion!
October 5th, 2009 Posted in NewsSime Racing would like to pass on our congratulations to Colin Turkington for winning the overall 2009 British Touring Car Championship.
We know Colin well from when he worked as a fellow instructor at Knockhill when he was studying at Stirling Uni and he is a genuinely nice guy and deserving champion – a big congrats from all of us.
If you haven’t seen the final races from Brands Hatch – do your best to catch a repeat – the final race of the day was one of the most exciting BTCC races we have seen in years with 3 potential champions to be crowned with the outcome.
Jason Plato came within 4 points of pipping Colin for the title with 3 thrilling victories, and reigning Champion Fabrizio Giovanardi just couldn’t make his Vectra dance enough to deny Turkington the spoils, despite Vauxhall’s best efforts of team orders…
