SimeRacing.co.uk mountain bike-ers complete the 10 hour race

June 8th, 2008 Posted in News

Simeracing.co.uk’s official mountain bike team, made up of Barry Sime and Stuart Andrew completed the recent “10 under the Ben” – a gruelling ten hour endurance mountain bike race held in the shadows of Ben Nevis on 31st May.  In some fantastic heat the pair clocked up 8 laps of the mountainous course to come home in a creditable 73rd place out of 155 pairs entered!  For more info check out www.nofussevents.co.uk

Barry commented “it was one of the most testing things i have ever done, both physically and mentally as the heat was very strong – it compares to when i was training my hardest, when i was competing in the British Formula Renault Championship in 2002 and 2003 and had a personal trainer – only as this was an endurance event you had to keep going and going… Great fun though and we beat our friends who were also competing!!”

Back to the planning and organisation for the BTCC hospitality at Knockhill in August for the Sime Racing squad.
