Motorsport Car Preparation

Sime Racing work with selected clients on various preparation and car management projects. This utilises our collective engineering experience from running, preparing and managing numerous projects and motor racing teams over the years from British Formula Ford, Formula Renault, F3, Le Mans/GTs and classic cars.

Jimmy is additionally a very experienced engine builder, with considerable experience in the motor trade in general. This experience can help to ensure you get the optimum from your package with our dynamic chassis set up process, which encompasses a full digital corner weight set up.

We also ran SRE Motorsport as a BTCC support, Clio and SEAT championship team in “the noughties” helping drivers to achieve numerous podiums over both TOCA support series. Both Barry and Jimmy’s services were contracted to Team Firstair, helping Tim Mullen to the Clio Cup Vice Championship, and Paul Rivett one better with the UK Clio Cup Championship. Jimmy has also been a regular visitor on official business to Le Mans over the last 10 year at both the contemporary 24 hour race and the classic Le Mans races.

Today, as well as working as consultants to other teams, businesses and educational establishments, we continue to prepare motorsport vehicles for competition. We are currently restoring a mk1 Mini Cooper for track use amongst other projects.
