About Sime Racing

Sime Racing, formed in 2000 by father and son team; Jimmy & Barry Sime. We have both successfully competed in various cars and disciplines over the years and have a wealth of experience between us. Jimmy first raced in the late 60s at Ingliston Circuit, opened by the late, great Jim Clark and Barry the 90s, coming through kart racing ranks, to top line single seaters, where his contemporaries included Button, Hamilton, Di Resta, Shedden and Marino Franchitti.

 

 

We truly love motorsport and this runs through the heart of the company. We take great pride in our preparation for races (both car and driver) and take great enjoyment in winning races and championships, whether competing ourselves or instructing/coaching other drivers.

 

Much of our time is devoted to instructing and coaching these days, where we work almost exclusively at Croft Circuit, in the North East of England. Croft is a fast and demanding circuit, used for the British Touring Car Championship and British Superbike Championship and is a delight to instruct on. You only need a driving licence to take part in any of these days.

Croft have taken delivery of some exotic machinery ranging from a brand new Ferrari 458, Lamborghini, Audi R8, Aston Martin right through to the single seater racing car – We really enjoy being able to drive and instruct in some of the finest machinery available – all in the one place at the same time, and are sure this enthusiasm shines through to both our and Croft’s customers.

 

Away from the track we are never far away from a competition car or a sponsorship proposal. We are proud of our achievements on and off the track and look forward to helping you with yours in due course.
